Lake Dunlap
Spillgate Failure
Tue May 14, 2019
The Guadalupe River is the source of water for Lake Dunlap. Tuesday May 14, 2019 one of three spill gates failed. This caused the lake level to drop by 50%. This has caused the main body of Lake Dunlap to revert to its original Guadalupe River shape.
If you are coming to float the Guadalupe or Comal Rivers, they are a short drive (3 to 4 miles) upstream and are open for business.
* At the Wundercove location you can now walk from the Wundercove cottages approximately 300 ft to the banks of the Guadalupe River and fish or kayak.
* The water level at Kuehler Cottage went down 4 ft and as of May 22, 2019 it still offers fishing or kayaking.
* Bamboo Haus & Lakeside Suite, both front the main body of the lake, now the Guadalupe River are accessible for fishing and kayaking.
