Lake Dunlap Spillgate Failure

Tue May 14, 2019

The Guadalupe River is the source of water for Lake Dunlap. Tuesday May 14, 2019 one of three spill gates failed. This caused the lake level to drop by 60-70 percent. This has caused the main body of Lake Dunlap to revert to its original Guadalupe River shape.

If you are coming to float the Guadalupe or Comal Rivers, they are a short drive (3 to 4 miles) upstream and are open for business.

All other Attractions in town are open to include Schlitterbahn, Natural Bridge Caverns & Wild Life Park, Landa Park & the Spring fed pool.

* You can now walk from the Wundercove cottages approximately 300 ft to the banks of the Guadalupe River and fish or kayak. We do have our two common area hot-tubs operating. Our new pool was completed September 2019.

Please call us 830-832-3530 or email us with any questions. We thank you for considering our properties.

Walking distance to the Guadalupe River at Lake Dunlap about 300 ft from most of the cottages. Walk along the now dry cove to access the water good for fishing or kayaking only. As of May 2019 the Lake had a gate failure causing the Lake level to drop to a river form in the middle.
